2025 Frank Sydenham Trust Postgraduate Scholarship

Available to full-time Māori postgraduate students studying in fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Veterinary/Animal Science.

Frank Sydenham was a pioneer in horticulture and achieved the feat of attaining a Master’s in Horticulture in New Zealand, when at the time it was not common. As a legacy to his beloved Tauranga, he left behind a Botanical Park and scholarship opportunities for the Bay of Plenty students pursuing tertiary level studies. The Trust has recently decided to extend its boundaries to encompass students throughout New Zealand, although students within the Bay of Plenty will be given preference. More importantly, the Trust continues to honour its founders’ legacy while adapting to the evolving need of the student academic results within the community. This also ensures those facing financial challenges are given due consideration in their application.
