2025 Māori Education Trust Secondary Boarding Scholarship

Available to Māori Boarding students with demonstrated financial need, academic ability and aptitude, and enrolled at Māori secondary boarding schools.

The 2025 Māori Education Trust Secondary Boarding Scholarship aims to support secondary students who are enrolled at boarding schools who demonstrate financial need, as well as academic excellence.

EligibilityApplicants must:

  1. be of New Zealand Māori descent;
  2. be enrolled at a NZQA recognised secondary boarding school;
  3. submit the application and supporting documentation on time.

Supporting Information You need to provide:

  1. Whakapapa verification. This can be a letter from your iwi confirming your registration.
  2. 2025 Enrolment confirmation. This can be a letter from your school, or a 2025 class timetable.
  3. Bank verification of your bank account number. This can be a bank statement or a screenshot of your banking app.
  4. Academic transcript. This will be your end of year school report or NCEA results.
