2026 Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Education Grant

Open to owners or descendants of Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Trust, or beneficiaries of Trustees of a Whānau Trust.

The aim of this scholarship is to support tauira who are owners, or descendants of owners, of Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Trust, and beneficiaries of Trustees of a Whānau Trust.

EligibilityApplicants must:

  1. be of New Zealand Māori descent;
  2. be enrolled in full-time study at a New Zealand Institution;
  3. be an owner or descendant of Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Trust, or a beneficiary of a Trustee of a Whānau Trust;
  4. submit the application and supporting documentation on time.

Supporting Information You need to provide:

  1. Whakapapa verification. You will need to provide the name, address, and telephone number of the Owner you whakapapa to or a Trustee of a Whānau Trust in which you are a beneficiary;
  2. 2026 Enrolment confirmation. This will need to prove that you're undertaking full-time study for the full year, and show your course-related costs.
  3. NSN and student ID number.
  4. Bank verification of your bank account number. This can be a bank statement or a screenshot of your banking app.
  5. Academic transcript. This does not need to be certified.
  6. Written academic reference. This will need to be current.
  7. Photographic identification. For example, passport or driver's license.
  8. Curriculum Vitae.
