Appointed Chairperson of the Trust in November 2018, Bronwyn is a community representative on the Board. Bronwyn has a BA in Political Studies and Māori Studies. Bronwyn has worked in the community education and voluntary sector, primarily in the area of adult literacy, for the over 20 years as a tutor, literacy coordinator and national trainer and manager.
In 1991 Bronwyn was appointed Te Apiha Kaiwhakahaere o Te Motu of the ARLA Federation (now Literacy Aotearoa Inc.) in a joint CEO position. Since 2005, Bronwyn has operated as Te Tumuaki (sole Chief Executive Officer) of Literacy Aotearoa. Literacy Aotearoa, a Treaty based organisation, is the largest national network of adult literacy providers throughout New Zealand. The annual average number of students enrolled each year is 7,000 and over 1,500 volunteers and paid personnel deliver the two core business activities of the organisation, namely literacy tuition and tutor training.

Monita is a chartered accountant in public practice operating from residential offices in Avondale, Auckland. He has had a range of positions over the years, but generally in the accountancy profession. Accountancy and Company Secretarial duties - 17 years, General Manager in manufacturing – nine years, and as a chartered accountant in public practice – 21 years.
Monita was a member of the board of trustees on three of the local Avondale schools from 1989 through to 2008. His accountancy practice provides financial assistance to four local schools, including a Kura Kaupapa Māori. This shows his interest in education.
In 1962 he received a grant from the Māori Education Foundation to help with his accountancy studies. He feels very privileged to be able to return the favour nearly 50 years later. No reira, ngā mihi ki a rātou ngā tīpuna i whakatō te kākano o tenei roopu.

Dame Iritana is no stranger to those involved in Māori education and we are fortunate to have had her long term involvement as a Board member. Dame Iritana represents the National Kohanga Reo Trust on the Board and is recognised nationally and internationally as the strength behind the success of the movement. Toitū Kaupapa Māori Mātauranga certainly continues to benefit from the stoic characteristics and guidance of our Kōkā. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe e te Kōkā. He kura tangata e kore e rokohanga. You are our indefinable treasure.

Bayden is from and lives in Waimārama, Hawke's Bay and descends from the first Māori settlers of this area. Bayden has a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University and is the director/owner of Ipurangi Developments Ltd., a business consulting practice.
Bayden is the chairman of Waimārama Marae and has board experience in governance roles, both nationally and locally. He is the current deputy chair of Health Hawke's Bay PHO, he is an elected member of the Hastings District Council Rural Community Board and is a member of its Māori Joint Committee. Bayden represents the New Zealand Māori Council on the Māori Education Trust Board. He has an interest in ensuring Māori tamariki reach their full potential in education and is excited to be able to support that kaupapa in this role.
