NOTE: If you are enrolled into a second Bachelors degree, you must apply as a Postgraduate student despite studying towards an Undergraduate qualification.

Postgraduate students are those who are returning to study after graduating with their Bachelor’s degree. This includes studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate; Bachelor’s with Honours (you must be enrolled in your honours year); a Masters programme; and PhDs.

Our Partners

Here at the Māori Education Trust, we pride ourselves on our determination to ensure we can fund as many students with scholarships as we can. For this reason, we have partnered with various iwi, land trusts, tertiary institutes, and organisations to support as many students as possible, and to provide you with other scholarship opportunities that you may be eligible for.

Partner Portal

We have partnered with iwi to create a Partner Portal – where participating iwi are able to make their scholarships available to apply for through the Application Portal. What this does is streamline the application process for both iwi and students, as it allows for students to have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship that they may be eligible for, but did not know of its existence.

So what does this mean exactly? If you are wanting to apply for a scholarship through your iwi, and they are partnered with us here at the Māori Education Trust, you will enter the Application Portal and indicate that one of your iwi affiliations is the intended iwi that has the scholarship you are trying to apply for. What will happen is when you continue from this step, the scholarship application will be made available for you to apply for.

Partners Administered Through MET

We also have partners whose scholarships are available on the Māori Education Trust application itself, rather than having their own individual applications. These can be applied for while progressing through the MET application, and can be found in the list of scholarships – and all you have to do is check the box!

Education Institutions

The Maōri Education Trust has had the opportunity to work with many Tertiary Institutes over the years in order to provide as many students with scholarships, in an effort to support them during their studies.

Our partnerships with universities across Aotearoa allow us to offer more scholarships, and also provide other opportunities to further students education and life after graduation. We hope to add to our list of tertiary institution partners as we continue to grow.

Further Funding Opportunities

There are many scholarships out in the community, not just through us! If you find that you are not eligible for any of our scholarships, or you are in need of further funding, we have compiled various external resources (meaning that the Māori Education Trust has no affiliation) that offer scholarships to students at different levels.
