Our Partnerships

At the Māori Education Trust, we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have dedicated the past several years to fostering and strengthening our partnerships with a diverse range of iwi, land trusts, education institutions, and various organisations. Through these collaborative efforts and the building of meaningful relationships, we have been able to leverage the collective expertise, resources, and support of our partners to create impactful opportunities for Māori students. This concerted approach has significantly expanded our capacity to assist and support tauira, allowing us to reach and uplift more individuals than ever before. Our enriched network and enhanced partnerships have been instrumental in broadening our outreach and deepening the support we can provide, reflecting our ongoing commitment to educational excellence and the empowerment of Māori communities.

Partners With Scholarships on the MET Application

These partners have scholarships that are on the MET application itself. They will be listed alongside the other scholarships that are on the MET application – this us approximately on page 6 of the application form.

Iwi and Land Trusts We Support

We also provide additional support on top of grants given to tauira by various iwi and land trusts. If you whakapapa to any that are listed and you are awarded a grant, you may qualify for an additional top up from MET.

The Partner Portal

In 2022, we opened our Partner Portal for the very first time. This has allowed participating iwi to have their grant/scholarship process shifted online to the MET application portal. If tauira would like to apply for these grants, they will need to ensure that they select the iwi as one of the options when they register – this will allow the application form to be made visible.

Education Institutions

Our partnerships with education institutions has allowed for tauira to receive larger grants that they may have received initially. If you are a student at any of the listed tertiary institutions, you may be eligible for additional funding or unique scholarships.
