2022 Secondary Scholarships

The 2022 Secondary Scholarship round closed at 4:30 pm, Friday, 18 Poutū-te-rangi (March) 2022. We are now working through the applications received and will be in touch with successful applicants in the coming weeks.

EDWARD CARLTON HOLMES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Number of recipients: varies

Available to secondary students who are a registered beneficiary of the Ngāti Kahungunu Ki Wairarapa Tāmaki Nui ā Rua Post Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE).

ŌTAKI AND PORIRUA TRUSTS BOARD SCHOLARSHIP

Number of recipients: 200+

Value of scholarship: $250+

We have entered into a partnership arrangement with the Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board to provide secondary school scholarships to registered beneficiaries of Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Toarangatira and Te Āti Awa. More than 200 scholarships are available to secondary school students for the 2022 year.  The value of each scholarship is $250+ and the partnership is worth over $50,000 in total.

MĀORI EDUCATION TRUST YEARS 10 to 13 SCHOLARSHIP

Number of recipients: 50

Value of scholarship: $500

Available to 2022 Years 10 to 13 Māori students with demonstrated financial need.

RJ GRAHAM SCHOLARSHIP

Number of recipients: 60

Value of scholarship: $500

Available to Years 12 and Year 13 Māori students with academic merit, studying Te Reo Māori and either mathematics, information technology or science.  (Science is defined as physics, chemistry or biology.)

Rose Hellaby Scholarship

Number of recipients: 30

Value of scholarship: $500

Available to Year 9 Māori students with demonstrated financial need, academic ability and aptitude.

Sister Annie Henry Scholarship

Number of recipients: 2 (in total, open to secondary and tertiary)

Value of scholarship: $1,000

The Sister Annie Henry Trust was established in 1972 to assist in the education or training of any direct descendants of Reverend John Laughton, or students of Tūhoe descent.

Tī Maru Māori Trust Secondary Boarding Scholarship

Number of recipients: 20

Value of scholarship: $1,000

Available to Year 9 Māori students with demonstrated financial need, academic ability and aptitude, who attend a secondary boarding school.

VW & LM Rosier Scholarship

Number of recipients: 20

Value of scholarship: $500

Available to Year 13 Māori students with demonstrated financial need and NCEA Level 2 with Merit or Excellence Endorsement.
