Tangiharuru Apa Trust 2023 Tertiary Scholarships
Available to Undergraduate Students, who are descendants of Tangiharuru or Apa.
Applications must be received by Sunday, 4:30pm - 30 Paenga-whāwhā (April) 2023.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be of New Zealand Māori descent; show they are descendants of Tangiharuru or Apa, verification by a Kaumatua or Elder is necessary
- ensure all supporting information is supplied
- be enrolled at a New Zealand Polytechnic, University, College of Education, Whare Wānanga, and all other recognised tertiary institutions, in 2023;
- meet all criteria for the scholarships applied for;
- submit the application and supporting documentation on time
Supporting information you need to provide:
- Whakapapa Verification; Verification by a Kaumatua or Elder is necessary
- Enrolment confirmation
- A copy of your 2023 Enrolment Fees Receipt
- Academic Records; a copy of your previous year’s academic record
- Bank account details; a pre-printed deposit slip or bank verified account details
Important Portal Information:
- Information will be saved automatically as you move from one page of the application to the next.
- If you cannot complete the application on-line, either contact the office for support (details below), or submit a hard-copy application to which all supporting documentation must be attached.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
- If you meet scholarship criteria, you can apply for as many scholarships as you wish, however you can only be awarded one.
- You must advise the Māori Education Trust of any changes to your application (e.g. change of address or withdrawal from study). All changes must be advised in writing (email or post).
- All applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will be notified in writing within three months after the scholarship closing date.
