EligibilityApplicants must:

1. be of New Zealand Māori descent;
2. be enrolled at a tertiary institute in 2022;
3. be attending study for the full year.
4. submit the application and supporting documentation on time.

Supporting information you need to provide:

1. Whakapapa verification: By providing a copy of either yours or your parent's iwi registration or an email or letter verified by a kaumātua. NOTE: your name must be clearly shown and the person verifying cannot be your sibling, spouse, parent or grandparent.
2. Enrolment Confirmation for 2022.
3. Bank verification of your bank account number.

Important Information:

1. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
2. If you submitted a scholarship application with the Maori Education Trust in 2022, you don't need to submit another application. If you're not sure, please email info@maorieducation.org.nz
3. Applications MUST be submitted via email only.
4. All applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will be notified in writing within three (3) months after the scholarship closing date.
